Festival called-off because of the weather

Comments (0)THE Sunrise Celebration Festival at Bearley Farm near Yeovil has been officially called off due to adverse weather conditions.
The event organisers, with the support of South Somerset District Council's licensing team decided last night to cancel the event after very heavy rain and thunderstorms flooded grassland, and with more thunderstorms forecast organisers made the decision for safety reasons.
The council's senior licensing staff and the organisers are currently onsite ensuring that people can continue to exit the site safely.
All entrances to the festival site have now been closed. The advice to anyone travelling down is to avoid coming to the site, as this could create congestion.
