Unfair to the good people of Eltham

YET again a national newspaper has denigrated the decent people of Eltham to produce headlines and sell papers.

The Independent, on December 15, wrote of Heltham, the home of white trash. How dare it refer to us in this way.

I am white and have lived in Eltham all my life but in no way do I link myself with those people who are racist and the majority of us living in Eltham think as I do.

As the former chairman of South Greenwich Forum, I worked to persuade Greenwich Council to stage multicultural days in Eltham Park and we worked tirelessly to part fund and support them.

It is murderers we should be venting our anger on, Whites murder whites, blacks murder blacks, whites murder blacks, blacks murder whites. We should seek them out irrespective of to which race, colour or creed they belong.
