ACHIEVERS at Bishop Fox’s Community School, Taunton, have been honoured at the annual certificate evening.

Head teacher Paul Scutt congratulated the students on the best ever exam results this year.

The school notched up a record 69% for five or more A*-C grades, with the 55% getting A*-C, including English and maths.

He said: “This performance placed the school well within the top 15% of schools locally and nationally. I would like to thank all staff, parents and students for their hard work and support.”

Among those collecting awards were: Patrick Hollebon, the Bishop Fox’s Cup for Outstanding GCSE Results 2008; Eleanor Ball, the Bishop Fox’s Cup for the most improved exam results between key stages two and four; Annabelle Anton, key stage four effort and achievement award – made to the student who has shown academic excellence combined with a positive, committed approach to work; Andrew Brooks, key stage four Somerset Careers Award; Hannah Coleby and Rosie Clarke, the Parmin Trevett Award for excellence in French; Gemma Mercer, 100% attendance award.
