A WELLINGTON bridal shop owner is reassuring customers that they will receive their orders, allaying fears that they had “done a runner.”

From Here To Eternity in Cornhill was forced to close after damage caused by a fire on December 28.

Owner David Eason said despite being “in limbo” the business was still operating and orders would be fulfilled.

The County Gazette has been contacted by several worried customers who were unable to contact the shop.

Tara Mitchell, from Wellington, paid a £70 deposit for her dress, but was forced to buy a new one for her April wedding after hearing nothing from the business.

“I must have sent around 20 e-mails and called constantly, but didn’t hear anything,” she said.

“It was horrible – I had a migraine for three weeks from the worry and nearly called the wedding off.”

And Cian Jones, from Curry Rivel, who won a £400 voucher for men’s hire through the County Gazette, has also heard nothing.

He said: “It’s getting to the stage where we’re going to have to look somewhere else.

“It’s devastating – we hadn’t budgeted for the suits as we thought it was all sorted, so it’s going to be a stressful few months.”

Mr Eason said: “Everyone who has contacted us by phone or e-mail have been res-ponded to and we’ve told them everything we know.

“We’re concerned about rumours saying we’ve gone bust or done a runner which don’t do us or our customers any good.

“We are talking to suppliers and some orders are being sent to other shops, but all those that have been placed will be fulfilled.

“Letters are being sent out to customers in the next couple of weeks with more information.”
