BLAGDON Hill Primary School will close at the end of next term, Somerset County Council has confirmed today.

The executive board voted to go ahead with plans to shut the school, which had just 13 pupils on roll at the start of this year.

The county claims the decision is needed to save money and pupils will be sent to other nearby schools.

Parents, pupils, staff and governors mounted a campaign to keep Blagdon open when the county first announced its plans last year.
