A TAUNTON solicitors is defying the credit crunch to expand its business and recruit more staff.

Harris Fowler officially launched their rebranded offices in Hammet Street with the help of Taunton Mayor and Mayoress Bob and Liz Bowrah.

The company say they have seen a significant increase in business during 2009 resulting in nine new members of staff being taken on in the last four months with further recruitment taking place now.

Work is also being done to convert a neighbouring building into more offices for the firm.

Senior partner Grant Fowler said: “We are delighted to be expanding and offering new employment opportunities in these difficult times.

“Our purchase of No. 4 Hammet Street demonstrates our commitment to Taunton town centre.”
