THRILL seekers in Taunton and West Somerset can get their adrenaline going with a new extreme sports club.
ESCAPe X Sports is a project run by Somerset Activity and Sports Partnership providing a programme of alternative sports aimed at getting young people and adults more active as well as introducing them to the natural environment using extreme sport.
Activities include surfing, mountain boarding, power kiting, skate boarding, kayaking, mountain biking, sailing and archery.
Project Manager Dave Jackson said: “We would like to share our passion for adventure and the outdoors with youngsters and adults alike, we use the best private providers, the best venues and the best equipment to ensure every one achieves their full potential whether it is trying something for the first time or progressing skill levels.”
The project is funded by Sport England, Safer Communities Partnership, Somerset Primary Care Trust, and Taunton Deane District Council, and has attracted the interest of a wide variety of other organisations.
The group will be running a week of activities in Taunton from August 17 and a week in West Somerset from August 24.
