LYDEARD St Lawrence Primary School is celebrating the success of their sports teams are champions of the small schools league in Tag Rugby, Football, Rounders and Kwik Cricket.
Sarah Wood, from the school, said: “This level of success has not been achieved by a local small school before. “Almost half of Key Stage 2 children were involved in the teams and several children participated in all four teams. “Having secured the two winter cups and winning the rounders league earlier this month, Lydeard St Lawrence were involved in a nail biting finish against a strong Stoke St Gregory team in the final game of the Kwik Cricket season.
“These successes are the result of several years of concerted effort to raise sporting standards in the school.”
