Taunton School pupils Annie Pearson, Georgia Brown, Bethany Jackson and Kreuza Trimi enjoyed an unforgettable trip to Albania over the summer.

It is the fourth year that groups from the school have raised money to support disadvantaged children at the Home of Hope in Elbasan, a home supported by the charity CRY.

This year the group raised over £3,000 to fund a holiday for the children in the Home of Hope and their carers.

A total of 12 children, were supported in their holiday on the north-west coast of Albania, in sight of the mountains of Montenegro.

Most of the 10-day trip was spent on the coast and the group played a full part, playing with and supporting their Albanian hosts.

Mornings in the sun on the beach prefaced siesta time in the afternoon.

The energetic children were keener to play Uno and ball games than to lie down, so siestas were somewhat limited.

Evening crafts and drama and home cooked Albanian dinner set the scene for evenings of dancing to Albanian music.

The Taunton School pupils felt it was a magical, rich, cultural experience, not to say a life changing one, for all involved.
