CREECH St Michael Primary School is a “caring and nurturing environment” that is a “shining example of a village school” according to two inspection reports.

The school was awarded a good grade from Ofsted and an outstanding mark from the Statutory Inspection of Anglican Schools, SIAS, in their latest reports.

Although Ofsted said they could work on making better links in communities in Britain and letting pupils know what they could improve, the report read: “Pupils’ personal development is outstanding. Behaviour and attitudes are exemplary and make a significant contribution to their good achievements.

“The very caring and nurturing environment enables pupils to make good progress to reach average standards by the time they leave school.”

And the SIAS report said: “Creech St Michael is a shining example of a village school with an outstanding Christian ethos. “The well-being of every member of the school community is considered important, including all pupils, staff, visitors, parents and governors.”

Head teacher Ed Gregory said: “We are delighted with the outcomes of the reports.

“We are very pleased the school’s tremendous commitment to pupil development and well-being continues to be regarded as outstanding.

“This is a real reflection of the quality of our staff team and the commitment that they have towards every child.

“As our school moves from strength to strength we also celebrate several refurbishments this summer as well as the opening of a new Year 6 Classroom and our new Accessible Facilities / Therapy Suite.”

The independent Pre-School on site also received outstanding from Ofsted as did Smileys, their extended schools childcare provider.
