ST John’s Primary School in Wellington has been classed as a “good church school” in their latest Statutory Inspection of Anglican Schools.
The report praised the “effective leadership of the head teacher and committed teamwork of the staff” ensuring the “safety, happiness and progress of all pupils.”
Head teacher Duncan Gordon said: “I am delighted that after our recent ‘good’ grade from Ofsted, the school’s Christian character has also received the same high grade. “During the inspection the school was judged against a range of criteria including: its distinctive Christian character, the impact of collective worship, the quality of religious education teaching and the leadership and management of the school.
“It came as no surprise to read that ‘pupils are secure and happy in school’ as the school prides itself on the Christian foundations that underpin daily life, with all members of the school community working well together to achieve this.”
