Salvation Army Christmas appeal

THE Salvation Army has launched its annual appeal to offer some festive cheer to children who might otherwise have a bleak time of things in the Taunton area.

The movement is asking people to donate new toys and gifts for children aged up to 16 who would otherwise have little or nothing on Christmas morning.

People are asked to drop off a new, unwrapped gift at SuperDrug, in Taunton, as part of The Christmas Present Appeal, which runs until Friday, December 18.

Local Salvation Army representatives will then distribute them to children and families in needed through its own networks, local groups and Social Services.

The group’s Capt Sue Camp-Richards said: “Thanks to the generosity of people in Taunton last year, The Salvation Army here collected over 500 toys and distributed them to families and children in this area who might otherwise have struggled at Christmas.”
