A BUILDER from Wellington had the cheek to streak in front of EastEnders star Barbara Windsor.
Now Joe Wainwright is using his daring stunt to raise money for Help for Heroes.
Joe, who is currently working during the week in St Albans with his brother and a group of friends, came up with the idea when he saw “Babs” filming Ricky and Bianca’s TV wedding scenes nearby.
He posted his idea on Facebook and said he would do the dare if he received 75 messages of support.
Joe, who plays rugby for Wellington, told the County Gazette: “I only got 61 but I thought I’d do it anyway. I bought a leopard skin thong from Tesco’s and walked over to the set in just my jacket, boots and knee pads before whipping off my jacket.
“Security quickly ushered me away but not before Barbara Windsor saw what I was doing.
“She was alright about it actually. She even said I didn’t do it properly because I kept my pants on.”
After receiving masses of publicity in a national newspaper the 20-year-old former Court Fields school pupil decided to use his notoriety to raise money for Help for Heroes.
He chose the charity because his brother’s friend, Jay Horne, was killed in Afghanistan earlier this year, and by Wednesday had already been promised over £200.
“Obviously I’m looking to get a lot more than that,” added Joe, who has the full backing of workmates Andy and Steve Newstead, Lee Somerset, Wayne Maunder and brother Shaun.
