POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a burglary and two attempted thefts from homes in Taunton on Monday.
The culprit got away empty handed after targeting a house in Staplegrove Road at 10.30am and a property in Shoreditch Road between 8.30am and 4.30pm.
But he stole Playstation and Nintendo games machines, a camera, camera equipment and jewellery in a raid on a home in Thames Drive between 3pm and 5.15pm.
He is described as a white man in his mid 20s, of medium build, 5ft 8in or 5ft 9in tall, with short black hair and a clean-shaven complexion.
Insp Sam Williams said: “We can’t confirm the incidents are linked.
“However, the close time frame and the vicinity mean we are considering this possibility.”
Insp Williams added that he wished to reassure the public that such crimes are rare in the Taunton area and burglaries dropped more than 12% in the period from April 1 last year to the present compared to the same period 12 months previously.
Anyone with any information should call Taunton Police on 0845-4567000 or Crimestoppers on 0800-555111.
