Pregnant woman seeks new home after fire rescue

A HEAVILY pregnant woman and her partner are today looking for a new home following their dramatic rescue from a burning flat in Wellington High Street yesterday morning.

The couple, who lived on the first floor, were among four people rescued by firefighters from a three storey house next to the Wok Inn.

One man escaped from his second floor by climbing onto the a roof at the back of the building.

All four were treated for smoke inhalation, but nobody was badly hurt.

High Street was blocked both ways near the Longforth Road during the incident.
