A MAN aged 25 died in a crash on the A38 Wellington relief road involving an articulated lorry and a car towing a horsebox on Wednesday (July 23).
The accident near the junction of Pope's Lane happened just before 1.30pm.
Police and accident investigators went immediately to the scene while officers from Wellington diverted traffic round the wreckage of both vehicles.
The dead man, from Tiverton, who has not been named because his relatives were still being contacted as the County Gazette went to press yesterday (Thursday), was pronounced dead on arrival at Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton.
His Land Rover Defender was towing a horsebox when it was in collision with the Scania lorry. The lorry driver, from Devon, was unhurt.
