Crowds lined the street all the way from Lemon Quay to welcome the Queen when she arrived at Truro cathedral.

Cheers went up and flags were waved as the royal couple were greeted to the by the Mayor of Truro, John Fletcher Peters.

Church leaders greeted the Royal Couple at the West Door of the cathedral, including the Rt Rev Bishop Bill End, Bishop of Truro, the dean, the Very Rev Michael Moxon and the Rev Jeremy Dowling.

There was time to speak to members of the crowd and children from local schools who had gathered outside before retiring for a lunch of Cornish produce in the Cathedral refectory.

Afterwards the Queen toured the Cathedral's exhibition celebrating its 125th anniversary before meeting local charity workers and others involved in Cornish life.

Also present were school pupils representing Cornwall's church schools, including those from Falmouth's St Francis and Wendron and Grade Ruan, near Helston.
