Cornwall's cricketers set an all time county record last season by hitting eight championship centuries. The previous record of six was achieved on three occasions, 1995, 2003 and 2004.

Anthony Penberthy and David Roberts hit two apiece while Neil Edwards, Karl Turner, Tom Sharp and Gary Thomas also reached the three-figure mark. Thomas hit a county record 13th century against Wales MC at Camborne and became only the fifth Cornwall player to pass the 5,000 runs mark during the season. For the first time in a season three batsmen, Sharp, Roberts and Edwards, averaged over 50. Anthony Penberthy was the leading runscorer with 434 runs at 48.22 and made the highest individual score of 150 against Cheshire at Alderley Edge.

There were a number of big partnerships during the year. Penberthy and Edwards put on 242 against Cheshire. There was a record 200 for the 7th wicket by Sharp and Hunkin against Herefordshire. Roberts and Penberthy put on an unbeaten 199 in the record successful run chase against Shropshire and Thomas and nightwatchman Turner put on 164 against Wales.

The leading wicket-taker was Chris Hunkin who took 24 wickets followed by Ryan Driver with 20, which included the season's best figures of 6-89 against Herefordshire. Neil Ivamy's five for 40 in his one appearance, against Wales MC at Camborne, was enough to see him top the entire MCCA bowling averages. Hunkin enjoyed a fine all round year with career best figures of 92 and five for 68 in the game against Herefordshire at Truro.

A statistical co-incidence saw Nick George and Penberthy both bowl 123 overs and 3 balls apiece. The county used 20 players in the six championship matches with only Penberthy and Hunkin featuring in all the games. Debuts were made by Karl Turner, Antony Angove and Dominic Bostock. Turner held 17 catches and made one stumping as wicket-keeper. County Caps were awarded at the end of the season to Hunkin, Ben Price and Mark George.
