STAFF at a manufacturing company in Wellington were rewarded for their efforts last week at an awards presentation.

The group of 14 workers at Swallowfield in Station Road were presented with certificates for NVQ qualifications in manufacturing operations they have recently gained.

Jeremy Browne, MP for Taunton constituency presented the awards and was given a tour of the factory by chief executive Ian Mackinnon.

Mr Browne said: "I was delighted to present NVQ certificates to the Swallowfield staff.

"The company has many loyal employees who have been with Swallowfield for decades and I am pleased that there is a commitment to developing the skills of all of the staff."

He said it is no secret Swallowfield has recently been through some choppy waters and he is very pleased that the company can now look forward with greater confidence.

"Swallowfield is an extremely important employer in Wellington and I will always do everything possible to support the business."

Mr Mackinnon said: "We are delighted to welcome Mr Browne to Swallowfield and for him to have the opportunity to meet employees.

"As a company, we are committed to a programme of continual investment in training to ensure that we have a motivated and skilled team."

Swallowfield formulates, manufactures and packages fine quality cosmetics and a wide range of toiletries across the whole spectrum of consumer markets for own label and brand names.
