In this week's Reader Rant opinion column a reader from Beckenham discusses one of his pet peeves - women with prams hogging the pavements. Whether you've had similar experiences or you want to defend pram-pushing mums, join the debate by adding your comments below.

CRITICISING women drivers is a regular thing but the reality is they don’t deserve it.

Boy racers, White Van Man, bus drivers and cabbies are far more of a danger on the road.

No, when it comes to women, it isn’t those behind the wheel who are a problem. It is those with prams.

At least when it comes to driving, there are rules for people to follow.

There is no rule book for women with prams. And most of them just seem to do what they like, and to hell with everyone else.

On one occasion three women with a pram each were hogging the whole of a wide path in a town in Shopperland, which shall remain nameless.

They were parallel to each other, obviously so they could share the latest gossip, but did they give way so others could continue walking without having to go onto the busy road?

Of course not. Other pedestrians were expected to put their lives at risk while this smug trio carried on chin-wagging about their holiday plans, what they planned for dinner or whatever, while taking up the whole of the pavement.

People on bicycles are expected to ride single file when on the road, but this rule obviously didn’t apply to these pram pushers.

Yet had anyone said something about their ignorance or simply forced their way through them rather than walking onto the road, they would have probably started bitching big time.

They should show more consideration for other people. As should those who use disability scooters.

Beware the reversing disability scooter while at the supermarket. They seem to be thrown around like dodgems.

Again, it’s just a case of people needing to think about others while out and about.
