Somerset 2 South: Taunton 3rds 7, Wellington 2nds 51.

THE Red and Blacks second string secured promotion to Somerset One with this victory over their local rivals.

They finished the season on the same points as Bridgwater 3rds but with a vastly superior points scored difference to go top.

Fly half Joe Wainwright slotted over a penalty before converting his own try to put Wellington in control. Another penalty followed with the next try coming from Matt Bramhall.

Winger Lloyd Bath finished a fine move with a try, converted by Wainright to put Wellington 27-0 up at the interval.

Winger Harry Coles was next over for the visitors, before Taunton pulled a try back through centre Paddy Dean for Robbie Miller to convert.

This was quickly countered when Mike Stanyard cruised over for a five pointer. The final score went to Allyn Chetland who finished off a huge driving maul for his second try of the match.

n CHAMPIONS Wellington complete their Devon and Cornwall division season on Saturday at home to Saltash. Victory would see the side finish with a 100% winning record, kick-off 3pm.
