Taunton enjoyed a highly successful Cheddar Festival on Sunday, with three age groups winning their respective tournaments.

The Under-12s, 10s and 9s were all triumphant, with the U-11s and Wellington U-10s and 9s finishing runners-up.

Taunton U-9s squad – Harry Tattersall, Henry Scott, Ben Mills, Oliver Williams, Nahum Merigan Oliver Buckhurst, Fergus Lloyds, Andrew Paulin, Rob Coombs, Iver Edwards, Will Perry, Danny Kassapian and Joe Heybourne (captain) – were undefeated in the tournament and beat Wellington in the final.

Taunton U-10s also defeated their Wellington counterparts in the final following wins over Cheddar, North Petherton and a draw with Wells.

Taunton U-12s made it four Cheddar tournament victories in five years. They beat Llanelli, Wells, Cinderford and Keynsham in the pool stage, Keynsham in the last four and hosts Cheddar in the final.

WELLINGTON U-10s defeated county champions 10-5 Launceston on their tour of Cornwall.

Charles Clist and Ben Maunder scored their tries.
