BISHOPS Lydeard maintained their fine start to the season with a comfortable eight-wicket win at home to Winscombe in the WEPL Somerset Division.
On a bouncy track, Winscombe won the toss and elected to bat. However, they were soon made to rue that decision as the opening pace attack of Mark Thomas (3-12), Paul Cook (2-10) and youngster Will Parkman (2-12) destroyed the top order.
Gareth Bellamy then wrapped up the tail with 2-5 from his four overs with only Liam Cureton (30) offering any resistance for the visitors who stumbled to a paltry 76 all out.
In reply, the Lydeard openers endured a lively spell of bowling from Cureton before sealing a comfortable win by eight wickets.
Andy Clark departed for 26, leaving Justin Burke (25) and Gareth Bellamy (12) to knock off the winning runs.
