MARK Langford, W. Scott and Martin Bellamy have all qualified for this Taunton and Pickeridge’s Pro-Am after Saturday’s Golf Foundation Medal, which was also an Osmond Cup qualifier.

In Division One, Langford’s 65 took top spot from Nigel Gardner 67, Neil McWilliams 67, Jonathan Taubert 67 and Mel Trott 68.

Scott led Division Two with a nett 63 from Tony Biggs 68, Maurice De Pasquale 69, Martyn Hammond 69 and Bryan Halliday 69.

Division Three was headed by Martin Bellamy with a nett 66 from J. Hawkins 66, Graham Cartwright 67, Graham Gardner 69 and Chris Dunlop 70.

In the Midweek Stableford, Simon Cory-Humble returned the highest score of 45 points. Division One was won by Roy Mitchell with 43 points followed by Joshua Webb 41, Alex Munro 40, Alistair Johnston 38 and Chris Nicholls 37.

Division Two was headed by Peter Dowsett with 37 points, followed by Scott Wallbutton 36, Peter Brierley 35, W. Scott 34 and Gerry Sayers 34.

Cory-Humble took top spot Division Three with 45 points from Simon Read 34 Chris Dunlop 31 Graham Gardner 32 and John Kirk 32.

The Tony Bond Memorial four-ball-better-ball on Saturday, May 15 was won by the pairing of Steve and Sam Sloman with 45 points.

They were followed by Ian McWilliams and Keith Welsher 43, John Herrington and Vince Jackson 43, Andy Collins and John Hutt 43, Doug Sharp and Ian Collins 43 and Russell Symons and Gerald Hudd 42 points.

In the Ladies Three-Ball Open last Tuesday, the visitors’ competition was won by Caroline Theyer, Lindsey Fletcher and Alison Adam with 72 points.

In second place were Sheila Grant, Jeanette Jones and Hannah Grant with 69 points from Jan Bishop, Joan Jenkinson and Angela Cook, also with 69.

The Competition for Pickeridge ladies was won by Jackie Lynn, Ann Williams and Joan Sayers with 72 points from Margaret farley , Marlene Ewens and Lennox Heath on 70.

KATHY Shepherd and Jenny Swann scored 32 points to clinch victory in the Oake Manor ladies Peugeot Coronation Foursomes Competition.

They now qualify for the area finals to be held in August.

Janet Howe and Sally Thomas were in second place just beating Bev King and Gukilla Tanner on countback with 31 points.

The Ladies also played a friendly at Enmore where they went down 4-1.

KEVIN Parker was the winner in Division One of the May Monthly Medal at Taunton Vale on Sunday.

He pipped Jerry Maxwell on countback after both players returned with 68, while Nigel Contreras was third with 70.

Alan Palmer headed Division Two with a round of 64, with Ian Case second on countback from Lee Lewis as both returned with 70.

Division Three was headed by Mike Saffin with 67, four ahead of second placed Lee Ward, while Terry Brown was third on 76.

Saturday’s Blind Pairs competition was won by Richard New and Alan Jubb finished with 79 points.

However, two pairs returned with 75 points but after countback it was Jeff Copp and Mike Berryman who were second just ahead of third placed Rob Hodge and Ron Brown.

Chris Palmer and Nick Holley were fourth but only after countback put them ahead of William McGinn and Simon Bamber after both pairs scored 69 points.

THE Vivary seniors section’s annual Don Burns Salver was a close-fought affair just won by Chris Stone and Jack Law with 58.4.

They just edged out Alan Stone and Ray Fallon on 59.0, who had a better back nine than Dave Thomas and Bob Stout.

Chris Stone also won the Pairs Betterball with his partner Gerald Weaver. The top three places all had 44 points but better back nines placed Nigel Griffin and Brian Hendy second, Peter Corrick and John Shove third.

The new vice-captain Dennis Galpin comfortably won the Jack Charlton Stableford with 44 pints with Peter Jeffrey second on 42 points and John Shove third with 39.

Alan Ross and Jack Law cut the course down to size with 56 and 57 respectively in the Spring Medal. Dave Hinton took third place with a 62.

The May Medal and Pro-Am qualifier went to Mike Manning on 61, two shots clear of Nigel Griffin and three clear of Michael Crump on 64.
