Taunton St Andrews are through to the last four of the Herbert Baker Memorial Cup after overcoming local rivals Taunton in a hard-fought quarter-final on Monday.

Batting first, Saints made 128-7 in their 20 overs with Robbie Contreras hitting 40 and Lloyd Alley 30. Taunton got to within five of this total before being bowled out with one ball to go.

Bishops Lydeard overcame Staplegrove by 60 runs with Brian Stone, Justin Burke and Andy Clarke all in the runs for Lydeard.

Holders Taunton Deane A are also through after a six-wicket victory over Wellington, who batted first and reached 128-3 with Michael Gill making 50 not out.

In reply, Devon Conway led the way with 36 as Deane got home with six wickets intact and nine balls to spare.

Ilminster defeated Ashbrittle by 65 runs and will now play Deane in the semis at Taunton CC on Monday, June 7 from 6pm.

In the Terry Terry Mockridge Memorial Shield quarter-final, Taunton CSRO bowled Bagborough out for 75 before making the runs required for the loss of four wickets.

Chard posted 193 away to Fitzhead, who replied by making 149. TCSRO now host Chard in the semi-finals.

North Petherton overcame Brompton Ralph to earn a semi-final tie against Taunton Deane B and Watchet, who were due to play last night (Wednesday).

The Baker Cup final takes place on Monday, July 5, at the County Ground, while the Terry Mockridge Memorial Shield final will be played at Staplegrove on Tuesday, June 29.
