Minehead recovered from a dismal start with the bat to record a narrow 14-run victory away to Stapleton in a West of England League Bristol and Somerset Division match reduced to 35-overs-a-side.
After being asked to bat, the visitors slipped to 43-5, but recovered to post a competitive 184, losing their final wicket in the 34th over.
Australian Jeremy Tosswill led the way, scoring a fine 83 from just 76 deliveries which included two fours and incredible nine sixes. Andy Dyer also added 38 from 21 balls.
In reply, a number of Stapleton’s batsman made contributions but no-one went on to make the match-winning score and they were all out for 170 with two balls remaining.
Minehead picked up wickets at regular intervals with Tom Wright (4-46) and Gary Bennett (4-31) securing the stand-out figures.
