WELLINGTON potter Sally Bennett has helped children at Curry Mallet Primary School create a ‘friendship post’.
The post provides a place where children who are feeling lonely or who are looking for a friend to play with can find company.
Every child has worked on making a clay tile for the post with expert help from Sally.
Head teacher Alison Whitman said: “The school is very proud of the friendship post.
The tiles represent different aspects of school life, the Somerset Levels and our link with a school in Zambia.
“As one of our parents said, ‘it’s a warming thought that there stands a permanent reminder of our son’s time at the school, a wonderful waymarker in his life.’
“Sally has done a magnificent job for us - there are so many details on the finished post that you find something new every time you look at it.”
