Attic appeal for the Great British Fox Hunt

FOX Brothers in Wellington are appealing for people to search their cupboards for any clothing, documents and other items of interest relating to the company in their ‘Great British Fox Hunt’.

The woollen and worsted luxury cloth company are making the appeal as part of their work to restore the mill’s important archive.

Anyone with interesting items will be invited to afternoon tea at the mill on Thursday, August 19, hosted by new owners Deborah Meaden and Douglas Cordeaux.

The owners decided to launch the initiative after they received many letters of support when they acquired the mill, often with mention of a ‘loved’ garment.

Managing Director Douglas Cordeaux said: “Local people and employees have always played such a valuable role in making Fox Brothers what it is, a small, luxury English cloth manufacturer with a large global reputation.

“We’re asking people to get in touch if they have cloth, clothing or indeed any documents which might be of interest, as we restore the valuable archives discovered at the Tonedale mill.”

Initially people are asked to email a photograph of their treasured items and then a selection of people will be invited to tea when they can reminisce about their links to the mill.

If you think you have something of interest email an image of the item and any other information to: c.staintonpr@gmail.com

Alternatively post a photograph to: Great British Fox Hunt, Fox Brothers, Tonedale Mills, Wellington, Somerset, TA21 0BA, enclosing a SAE if you wish the photograph to be returned.
