Minehead Middle School has elected its new head boy and head girl for the year.

Isaac Reeson, 13, and Shannon Collings, 12, were elected by the school to represent them at official events.

Head boy Isaac is a keen rugby fan who plays for Minehead Barbarians and enjoys surfing and skateboarding.

Isaac said: “I enjoy school and am very proud to be head boy.”

Shannon, who enjoys art, drama, English and plays netball for the school, said: “I believe I am willing to listen and help others, and capable of making responsible decisions.”

Deputy head boy Matthew Fowler is a keen guitarist and goes bell-ringing at Exford Church while deputy head girl Alicia Harding has taken part in local productions and even appeared on stage at Bristol Hippodrome.

Headteacher Paul Rushforth said: “We are all delighted Isaac and Shannon have been elected.

“They fought their campaigns very|well, against particularly tough competition, and I am sure will both do|an excellent job representing and helping to further improve Minehead Middle School, ably supported by Matthew and Alicia.”
