A YOUNG Taunton solider is to be honoured for gallantry after he seized a Taliban leader in Afghanistan.
Rifleman Reece Terry, of the 4th Battalion the Rifles, is to receive the Queen's Gallantry Medal for Bravery.
Reece, 19, led a night-time raid in southern Afghanistan last October to capture the Taliban leader, who had killed a number of British soldiers.
he was at the head of a 100-strong force that moved through seven irrigation ditches, two belts of disused compounds and fields, all concentrated with bombs.
He was armed only with a metal detector and night vision goggles for the daring raid.
