FREE careers advice is being offered to Somerset adults who may be worried about their employment situation.

The service is from Connect South West careers, information, advice and guidance company as part of Adult Appointment Week, which runs until Sunday.

The service is open to people of all ages and can help if you have been made redundant or are at risk of redundancy, looking for a job or have been out of the job market for some time and need help getting back into work.

Connect South West chief executive Rachel Bendall said: “We’ve seen an increase in the number of adults seeking careers advice and guidance recently and want to make sure others know we’re here.

“The reasons people come and see us vary hugely - may be someone’s been in the same job for a long time, has recently been made redundant and needs advice on how to approach a job interview.

“Or it could be someone is looking for work and needs some guidance on how to search for jobs on the internet or help with their CV.

“We want people to know we’re here to help – you’ve nothing to lose and potentially a lot to gain.”

Connect South West has a number of centres and access points in Somerset and careers clinics are held on Tuesdays until 6.30pm in centres in Taunton, Yeovil and Wells.
