SCORES of underprivileged children in other parts of the world will have pupils from Creech St Michael Primary School to thanks for cheering up their Christmas.

The pupils collected 180 shoeboxes full of presents to brighten up the festive season for youngsters in Europe, South America, Haiti and Africa.

It was all part of the nationwide Operation Christmas Child run by Samaritans Purse.

Teacher Hugh Taunton, who organised the collection at Creech, said: “It was all about our children helping children and I was delighted with the great response, which reflected favourably on the school.

MrTaunton is pictured with members of the school council before the boxes were sent off.
