Taunton Deane MP Jeremy Browne visited the Treetops at Holway Park Primary School, Taunton, for a lesson.
Treetops nurture group provides in-house education for children who need extra support settling into school life.
Mr Browne said: “Treetops provides a supportive learning environment for young children who need extra help adjusting to the classroom environment.
“Its targeted programme teaches the children about behavioural norms and assists with key skills such as language and social development.
“I enjoyed seeing how the children are taught through structured play when I visited for breakfast recently.
“School is an important arena to teach children how to interact and the confidence and self-awareness they learn from the Treetops programme is helping them to be successful at school.
“It’s vital to give every child the opportunity at the start of their life to gain the full benefits from education.”
