CHILDREN at Creech St Michael Primary School are wheely pleased with a £250 donation to buy bikes and trikes.
They received the money from Creech St Michael Flower Show Committee after pupils from the lower school took part in an art competition as part of last year’s event.
The bikes will be used in the school’s new sensory garden – which was also the result of a combined community effort.
Landscape gardener and parent Jonathan Neil, of Hillview Landscapes, supported the project and created an outdoor space with willow tunnel, textured pathway and mound.
The school’s Early Years department was awarded a Sure Start grant to develop the area.
It features a digging pit, sand and water trays, mirrors, chalk boards and storage facilities.
Flower show secretary Sandra Adams also presented a trophy to pupil Gracie Watts, the winner of the art competition, during an assembly, while children presented Mr Neil with a card to say thank you for his efforts.
