LADYMEAD Community School were absolutely delighted with their 2006 GCSE results.

64% of all year 11 students achieved 5 or more A* to C grades which included the highest ever amount of A* grades across all subjects.

Headteacher, Mark Trusson, was delighted with the results.

He said: "These results highlight the fantastic amount of hard work both pupils and staff have demonstrated over the past year.

"The pupils have earned some superb GCSE results that will stand them in good stead for the future.

"Ladymead is a rapidly improving school and these results together with the May 2006 Ofsted comments confirm our excellent progress this year."

In addition to these results the 187 pupils in year 11 gained 98% 1 or more A* to G grades, 90% 5 or more A* to G grades and an average point score of 380 points per pupil.

In conclusion Mr Trusson said: "I would like to pass on my congratulations to all the Ladymead students and wish them every success for the future."
