STUDENTS at Court Fields Community School came into the exam hall with worried faces and left smiling and relieved as the school celebrates its highest results ever, with 66% of students achieving 5 A*-C grades and every student achieving at least one GCSE pass.

This shows a further increase of 4% on last year's results, and 11% improvement in the last two years.

Over 95% of students achieved 5 passes at A*-G grades and almost 90% achieved at least one higher grade of A*-C.

Headteacher, Mrs Elaine Faull, said: "What an outstanding set of results these were and represented the excellent Year group who had worked well.

I feel very proud of the results for all students, parents and staff alike in this truly comprehensive school.

Many of our students gained a range of qualifications which included AS level Art, GCSE, Certificate of Education and other Vocational qualifications.

This year we had not only students from Year 11 coming to collect GCSE results, but also students from Year 10 and even Year 9.

I was particularly impressed with the excellent results in English and Maths.

We hear a lot in the news about developing basic skills and I am delighted the vast majority of our students achieved a C grade or higher in both English and Maths.

The Art department showed very impressive results with the 5 students who took AS level Art this year.

Of these students 100% achieved passes at AS level, 2 students, Emily Kidson and Hero Austin achieved C grade, 2 students, Emma Fowle and Grace Hancock achieved D grade and Gemma Summerhayes achieved an E grade.

These grades would be considered to be very good grades for students who had moved on to 6th form courses and are therefore outstanding for students so young as these.

Not only did our percentage of students achieving A*-C grades go up, but all of our students did particularly well in achieving higher grades across all subjects."

Students who did particularly well were: Iain Mair, who achieved 14 grades at GCSE including 12 A grades, 1 A* and 1 B. Iain did outstandingly well in a wide range of subjects, both GCSE and Vocational.

Twins Hero and Octavia Austin also did exceptionally well with Hero achieving a C grade at AS level in Art, 5 A* grades, 4 A grades and 2 B grades.

Octavia achieved 10 A grades, 1 C and 1 D grade.

Some of the other students who did exceptionally well were - Ashley Quinlan achieved 5 A*s, 4 As, 5 Bs Stella Lithgow achieved 4 A*s, 2 As, 5 Bs and 1 C Rachel Gilbert who achieved 3 A*s, 6 As, 1 B Tom Major achieved 3 A*s, 5 As, 1 B and 1 C Jess Sloman achieved 3 A*s, 2 As, 2 Bs and 6 Cs Jason Ham who achieved 12 higher grade passes, did outstandingly with 3 A*s - including unsurprisingly Drama, 2 As, 3 Bs and a Merit in GNVQ ICT Will Dahlgreen achieved 3 A*s, 2 As, 3 Bs and 2 Cs Bradley Woodgate achieved 1 A*, 6 As and 4 Bs Suzy Turner achieved 1 A*, 5 As, 4 Bs and 1 C Falon Counsell achieved 1 A*, 2 As, 6 Bs and 5 Cs Charlotte Hay achieved 7 As, 7 Bs These exceptional results from all of our students will be celebrated in November when all of the Year group will be invited back to receive their certificates.

Another outstanding set of results for Court Fields in both 14 year olds who sat Statistics 2 years early, 15 year olds who sat Art and Statistics early, and the whole of the 166 students in Year 11 who did exceptionally well.
