SHOPPERS using the Co-op store in Wiveliscombe could have a bit of a shock next Monday, as the staff will be serving people dressed in fancy dress.
That is because they are taking part in a community challenge to help launch a new volunteering initiative.
And so wellies, overalls, paintbrushes, hard hats and toolkits will replace the usual uniform.
Whether it is digging, planting, painting or clearing up that is required, local community groups can nominate a challenge for the Co-op staff and members to complete - providing both the labour and materials for the selected project.
Wiveliscombe Co-op store manager Robert Richardson said: "Co-operative Group staff and members are ready for action and really looking forward to getting stuck in to help make a difference in the community.
"All we need now is for local groups to set us a challenge."
Nomination forms to challenge the team will be available from the store.
