OVER 1,200 invited guests are expected to attend a family fun day at Norton Manor Camp, home of 40 Commando Royal Marines, today.

The event, for families of Royal Marines, is being organised by new welfare charity Go Commando, which is supported by the County Gazette’s Shoulder to Shoulder campaign.

The day is free for the families, and an array of entertainment and rides is being provided with the help of Butlin’s, children’s entertainers, face painters, magicians and fairground rides.

The day’s special guest is BBC TV presenter Monty Don, who will present an award to the winners of an inter-Company sports competition.

Meanwhile, with some of 40 Commando Royal Marines back out on manoeuvres in the Mediterranean the County Gazette has updated its Shoulder to Shoulder poster so you can replace the previous Welcome Home version.

The new poster, pictured on this page, allows you to show your support for our troops, and includes the logo of the Go Commando charity set up to help the Marines and their families.
