CREATIVE pupils at Archbishop Cranmer Primary School in Taunton narrowly missed out on winning a religious art competition.
They came second in a contest organised by the Diocese of Bath and Wells to design a banner to mark 200 years of church schools in England.
All schools in the diocese were invited to enter with the winning design being turned into a banner to represent Bath and Wells at a ceremony in Westminster Abbey later in the year.
Youngsters at Archbishop Cranmer were presented with a certificate and award from the diocese in recognition of their efforts.
The design, which has been on show at Wells Cathedral, will be made into a banner by members of St James’ Church, Taunton.
