PEOPLE living in Cotford St Luke have been without working telephones or broadband for over 24 hours after a length of BT cabling was stolen yesterday morning.
A BT spokesman has told the County Gazette that a piece of underground cable dug up, cut out and stolen on the A358 near Bishop’s Lydeard.
The spokesman said: "Since we discovered it had been stolen we’ve been working around the clock to get a new cable in.
“All being well we hope to have the new cable finished and everything back in service tomorrow morning.”
BT engineers have already put a new cable in place and are now working on joining up the 500 to 600 lines that run through it.
