Brewhouse visitors experience authentic cider press

HUNDREDS of people got the chance to taste freshly pressed apple juice outside Taunton’s Brewhouse last Saturday.

Taunton Transition Town's group of ‘low carbon’ volunteers took advantage of the glorious weather to invite people to bring their windfalls for pressing by the traditional method.

Group member Vicky Briggs told the County Gazette: “We wanted to show just how easy it is to use the abundance of apples we have in this part of the world that would otherwise go to waste.”
