YOU’LL be hearing a lot more from the bells at Milverton Church soon as bellringers step up their celebrations for the Diamond Jubilee.
Around 25 bellringers from the Milverton Benefice marked the 60th anniversary of the Queen’s accession to the throne on Monday.
They performed a quarter peal of 1,260 changes of Grandsire Triples which lasted 45 minutes.
Ringing Master Keith Beale said: “We hope to do a lot more ringing sessions to celebrate the Jubilee year, so if people hear the bells that’s what it’s for.
“We encourage anyone who wants to learn how to be a bellringer to get in touch.”
The group plan further celebrations for the Benefice Parishes of Milverton, Fitzhead, Halse and Ash Priors.
If you are interested in learning to be a bellringer, call Keith on 01823-432500.
