STUDENT Chris Nation can put worries over the rising cost of tuition fees behind him after winning a lifetime scholarship at Cardiff University.
Chris, from Richard Huish College in Taunton, won a Pride of Somerset Youth Award in 2011 and is planning to study to be a solicitor at Cardiff.
Chris, 18, was awarded the scholarship after proving his academic ability, skill and commitment during a challenge involving a series of tests and activities, including making a video.
The Lifetime Scholarship is worth more than the value of Chris’ undergraduate fees, currently £27,000 for a three-year course, but as Chris already has his sights set on a PhD and with legal practice training, the value of the Lifetime Scholarship soars to in excess of £50,000.
Chris said: “I have wanted to study law for as long as I can remember. I was determined to do my best as the scholarship is a once in a lifetime opportunity.”
