A MINIBUS driver from Taunton accused of causing the death of a 21-year-old student by careless driving has had his trial delayed.
Jack Carter, 22, was due to appear before a jury at Exeter Crown Court on Monday, July 2, but Judge Phillip Wassall has vacated the trial because of problems over expert evidence.
Carter, of Haines Hill, denies causing Catherine Hamer's death by careless driving on the A 3124 near Winkleigh in North Devon on May 28 last year.
He was the driver of a minibus which crashed into the Peugeot car which she was driving in the opposite direction at the time with her boyfriend, who was injured but survived.
Judge Wassall set a new date for October 29 and ordered the prosecution to prepare and exchange any additional evidence in time for the hearing.
