THREE fire engines attended the Taunton branch of Moss Bros this afternoon (June 26) following reports of a strong smell of burning.

Shoppers were evacuated from the premises while firefighters investigated the cause.

A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "Two fire appliances and the aerial ladder platform from Taunton were initally sent as it was unsure what was involved.

"On arrival crews confirmed there was a smell of burning on the ground and first floor, and used a thermal imaging camera to investigate.

"Crews found it to be a fire in a light fitting which was extinguished. Crews then isolated electrics and ventilated the property.
