SAINSBURY’S has opened its new petrol station opposite its town centre supermarket in Taunton.

The supermarket giant is leasing the premises from Dunns Motors, which has run the site for generations.

Its a requirement when they are on the forecourt. So idiots don't run them over or at least give them a fighting chance of seeing them.

On another note apparently they had run the station at a loss for some years and resisted offers to take it over.

Sorry, pendantic I know, but 'they' being who, and where?

Is a sign of the times that high viz jackets are needed, but with todays driving standards you can see why!

The people who owned the dunns bp station previously, had run it at a loss for some years.

Its not just that most places people work these days with vehicles moving have to wear them, building sites, car parks etc.

I went in there the other day and I was supprised how they hadn't done much with it. The shop is still tiny but they have jammed in two tills. Its doesnt look that new mostly repainted.

It would have been good if they'd put pay at pump in, would have made filling up and dashing of easy... too easy in fact.

I suspect petrol stations may delay investing in pay at pump, just to make you spend 70p on a chomp when you go in to pay.

The petrol station that was there, had one of the highest petrol prices in Taunton so only rich idiots would fill up there. The petrol station is also in a dangerous and akward location and really should not be allowed.

I would never fill up there unless I was on empty and in desperate need for fuel.

Whats dangerous about the location. Its safe in my mind its idiots racing accross the forcourt using it as cut through or people trying to turn accross multiable lanes of traffic to access are the danger.

Cars and roads aren't normally dangerous its the people who are using them and their behaviour that cause the danger normally.
