Police appeal after sexual assault
POLICE in Taunton are appealing for information to identify a man who may be able to help police with their enquiries.
It follows an incident in a Taunton town centre shop in which a woman was sexually assaulted.
At around 4.30pm on Saturday, a woman was working in the store when a man entered.
She showed him a hand product and he sexually assaulted her by touching her breasts.
The man then left the shop but was seen in the area later that afternoon.
He then returned to the shop the following day.
Officers investigating this incident are keen to speak to the man as he may have information that could help.
The man is described as white, aged in his late 30s or early 40s, around 5ft 9in tall and of a slim build.
He had short brown hair under a blue cap, facial hair and was wearing a light hooded style jumper under a denim jacket with lighter sleeves.
Anyone who may be able to identify the man, or the man himself is asked to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800-555111.

But should “plod” step out of the luxury transport at his disposal and arrest the guy who offended, charge him and bring him before magistrates he is unlikely to get as great a punishment as someone who forgot to tell DVLA that their car was off the road: no axe to grind here as I don’t drive! However, had the woman used her knee at the time the offender might well have been taught an immediate and salutary lesson with the result that he might be deterred from repeating his action.
Bizarre comments St Austell. Are you suggesting that it would be enough for the victim to knee this person, leaving him to continue? Perhaps this sort of behaviour is acceptable to you? Or just that you think trying to come across as some sort of cynic makes you look clever? Odd.
