A GROUP of student cyclists took part in an exhausting long distance cycle ride to raise money for charity.

Pete Balchin, Alex Davis, Mark Balchin, Joe Harding and Simon Sladden all completed the 15-day ride from John O’Groats to Land’s End, raising £2,500 for St Margaret’s Hospice and Teenage Cancer Trust.

In the weeks leading up to the event, some of the cyclists trained hard to prepare for this event so they could raise as much money as possible.

Despite the awful weather conditions, Alex, of Langport, said: “We did manage to have two days that we didn’t have to wear coats.”
