Enter the Taunton Carnival Princess competition now!

YOUNG ladies aged between nine and 13 are invited to take part in this year’s Taunton Carnival Princess competition.

County Gazette readers will help choose the winner who will ride with the Carnival Queen at the head of the annual procession.

The competition is organised by the Taunton Carnival Committee in conjunction with the County Gazette .

Girls aged between 9 and 13 on Carnival Day, Saturday October 20 are eligible, provided they live in or attend school in Taunton Deane.

All you have to do is telephone 01823-365203 to book an appointment to come to the County Gazette offices in St James Street and have your photograph taken.

Bring address, contact details and your ambitions written down with you.

Photo sessions will be taking place on Wednesday, August 8 2-4pm and Friday, August 10 10am-2noon.

All entries will be published in the County Gazette on August 16 with the voting form.

Then it’s over to our readers who will be invited to choose their favourite contestant.

The girls receiving the most votes go through to the Grand Final, when the official panel of judges will choose the 2012 Carnival Princess.

Each of the three girls selected for the final will take part in activities organised by the Carnival Committee.

The overall winner will be published on September 20.
