AN ‘inspirational’ great grandmother from Taunton celebrated her 100th birthday this week.

Ruby Lewis marked the day (Tuesday) at her Galmington home with family, close friends and members of St Michael’s Church.

She has lived in the area for 60 years and was the longstanding member of Taunton Towns Women’s Guild, the Walnut Tree Club and as a keen pianist.

Ruby has two sons, a daughter, nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Daughter-in-law Pam Lewis said: “She is well loved by everyone and a real gentle woman who people just find amazing and inspirational to be so fit and healthy.”
